Learn To Sing With Mel!

All ages welcome!  Private one-on-one lessons in Warragul.

If you’ve ever thought about having singing lessons, now is the time to actually do it!

Aside from being fun, singing is great for your mental health and general wellbeing. Whether you want to sing confidently on the stage, or sound awesome in the shower - I can help you (I’ve done both) 😉.

To give you an idea of what to expect, lessons are 30 minutes long and $40 each - paid upfront by the term (Term lengths vary but I generally only work up to 10 weeks per term so you’ll never pay more than $400). Together we work on exercises to warm up and then strengthen and refine your voice. Then we have fun with a song of your choice (I can help you to choose something from a list you provide that will suit your voice for where you are on your singing journey so far). With regular lessons and practice outside of lesson times you will hear and feel results. How much and how quickly this happens is totally up to you and the amount of quality time you put in. Opportunities to record or perform live in a supportive environment are also available.

Build your skills and confidence at the same time.

Limited spaces available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and evenings - starting early February 2024.

2024

Welcome to 2024!  May your year be everything you hope it will be!
2023 was HUGE and quite challenging and nobody had time to update this website (except for the shows page)! We’ll try to do better this year… 😉

Mel has already locked in some wonderful gigs and events and looks forward to performing for you soon.

What’s new in ‘22?

Gigs are back!

Let’s face it, the last couple years have been brutal for the entertainment industry, so it’s exciting to see events - both large and small, back on again.

Mel is back on stage doing her thing again this year, with a number of regional gigs already in the diary and more to be announced soon.

The Women in Gippsland, International Women’s Day Event (SOLD OUT) saw her take to the stage to both perform and MC at the West Gippsland Arts Centre - something Mel looks forward to doing more of, along with some other exciting new roles in West Gippsland. Watch this space for more about that!

Mel supporting The Chantoozies

Mel is absolutely stoked to announce that she is supporting The Chantoozies, Australia’s favourite female band, at Live at The Bundy on Saturday, November 17, 2021! The Chantoozies have toured extensively throughout the country for over 3 decades, often sharing the stage with iconic Aussie bands, Daryl Braithwaite, James Reyne, Hoodoo Gurus, John Farnham, just to name a few or legendary international acts, Billy Joel, Rick Astley, Go West, Bananarama and Billy Ocean. The girls (Ally & Eve) are backed by their amazing 4 piece band and deliver a fabulously fun show packed with a blend of Chantoozies hits and well-known covers. They love to sing, dance and laugh but mostly, they love to perform (show off) for an audience and they can’t wait to get on-stage and do just that!

This show is currently SOLD OUT, however, COVID restrictions may allow the venue to release further tickets, so get on the waitlist via the Try Booking link below.

DON’T LET GO - OUT NOW!

New Single Available Everywhere from February 13, 2021

Don’t Let Go is the second single off Mel Pollard’s highly anticipated, upcoming debut album titled, ‘44’, expected to be released this year.

Just like with her first single, Lose Control, Don’t Let Go was a total DIY job, recorded  in Mel’s apartment in Melbourne.

An up-beat, catchy song, driven by an eighties-rock inspired bass line, Don’t Let Go could be confused as being a song about love, and while it is on one level, it is also very much a song about mental health - the highs and lows and the battle to see the light through the darkness. Written during the extended COVID isolation period in Melbourne, Mel was inspired by the uncertainty of everything and the way anxiety about the lack of control affected her personally.

If you like your rock over-easy with a bit of sweetness to taste, there’s a good chance this song will become the latest one to get stuck in your head - for all the right reasons.

Don’t Let Go is now available for digital download and streaming at all major online stores as well as right here. Check out the music clip below or on YouTube and Mel’s socials (@melpollardmusic).
